PORTAGE, MI — This week, in a demonstration of unity and support, multiple leaders from Kalamazoo County have endorsed Dr. Matt Longjohn’s candidacy for Michigan’s 40th House District. Kalamazoo County Commissioners Dale DeLeeuw, Tami Rey, John Taylor, and Jen Strebs, along with Tracy Hall, Executive Director of OutFront Kalamazoo, are all announcing their endorsement of Dr. Longjohn.
Jen Strebs, Kalamazoo County Commissioner, voiced her support for Dr. Longjohn’s, “I am endorsing Dr. Matt Longjohn for MI’s 40th House District because he is the real deal. I know his years of experience and public health expertise will help guide meaningful system change in Lansing – and that will benefit everyone in our community. Tami Rey, Kalamazoo County Commissioner, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Dr. Longjohn’s unwavering commitment to addressing health disparities. “Dr. Matt Longjohn will bring over 25 years of proven leadership and innovation in public health to the State House. These endorsements add to a growing list of supporters rallying behind Dr. Longjohn’s campaign. Previously, Mayor Patricia Randall of Portage, Prosecutor Jeff Getting, State Representative Julie Rogers, and other prominent figures have all expressed their support for Dr. Longjohn’s candidacy.
