PORTAGE, MI – Dr. Matt Longjohn officially launched his campaign for Michigan’s 40th House District today at the FieldStone Grill in Portage. The event, attended by over 120 supporters, was filled with enthusiasm, energy, and a sense of activism.
Cheryl A. Dickson, MD, introduced Dr. Longjohn as a friend and colleague, emphasizing his dedication to public service and health equity. The event served as a platform to recruit volunteers for canvassing, hosting events, and providing general support for the campaign.
When reflecting on the event Matt stated, “I am humbled and energized by this turn out. We were competing with Spring Break, MSU’s appearance in the NCAA tourney, and beautiful weather. But everyone here today prioritized support for my campaign. I am grateful. It was wonderful to see so many faces I recognized from my Congressional campaign in 2018, and to meet new constituents and supporters from across this district. We have a ton of work to do, but I am ready to put in the effort required to secure this seat for Democrats in 2024.”
